SGGA 2012 CONCLUSIONS

The SG Network General Assembly 2012 was held in Malmö, Sweden between 15-16 June. We would like to express our appreciation to all the participants, speakers and organisers who made the event a great success.

Our words of gratitude go to the two keynote speeches by John Goddard from the University of Newcastle and Jaana Puukka, Project Manager and analyst for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development offered complementary views on Engaging with Regions: Universities as drivers of economic and social change.

Karin Johansson-Mex, Head of MEDEA Collaborative Media Initiative at Malmö University, Lorenza Rega, Deputy Rector for Education and Students Affairs, University of Trieste , Ryszard Białecki, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Silesian University of Technology and Daniel Sandström Editor in Chief of Sydsvenskan also deserves gratitude for their inputs.

A special word of gratitude goes to Prof. Stefan Bengtsson, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malmö, as well as to Prof. Ingrid Elam, Pro Vice-Chancellor  of Internationalisation, Gunilla Phannenstill,  Head of the International Relations Office and her team members Vilhelm Engström, Linda Holm, Martin Kvist, Viktoria Willenfelt-Lumpkins and Saila Kakko for their efforts to organise this successful event.
