SGroup at AIEA webinar on Justice, Equity, Inclusion and Internationalization

3 May 2021

The Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) is organizing a thematic forum called Consistently Engaged: An Exploration of the Intersection of Justice, Equity, Inclusion and Internationalization’ that will take place online on 12 May 2021. The event is organized by Ohio State University, the American Council on Education (ACE), Pennsylvania State University and our member institution, Tampere University.

SGroup will be represented by several experts’ contributions from Tampere University, as well as by Alexandra Hughes, from the University of Westminster, and member of SGroup’s Executive Committee. You can find the programme and register for free here.

The event targets international education leaders, chief diversity officers and faculty and staff in higher education. The extraordinary circumstances surrounding the global pandemic and the enormous scale of the worldwide protest movement for racial and social justice confirm the need for consistency and responsiveness in addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion on higher education campuses. This forum will highlight the challenges, opportunities, and exemplary strategies to advance anti-racist and anti-inequality education in inclusive environments for diverse student populations through teaching, learning, community service and outreach, and global engagement.

Alexandra Hughes, SGroup Executive Committee member and Deputy Vice–Chancellor for Global Engagement and Employability at the University of Westminster, will be one of the panelists, sharing the most important results of the SGroup studies on Outward Student Mobility and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, in 2020 and 2021.
