SGroup participated in the APAIE - Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference 2022 with a roundtable on ‘Sustainable transition of Higher Education management prompting Social innovation’.

On 28 March 2022, in a virtual format, Dr Arnim Heinemann (University of Bayreuth) and Catalina Gonzales-Uribe (Universidad de Los Andes) invited participants to reflect on how universities can support the societal challenges of the post-pandemic era transitions.

The presenters focused on how to generate social innovation through new processes of local outreach and global cooperation led by Higher Education institutions as well as impact measurement, in line with SGroup’s annual topic.

The roundtable discussion with the audience covered new institutional as well as national and global rules & incentives for hybrid mobility & blended learning as well as mutually beneficial collaboration with communities and societal ecosystems in connection with Sustainable Development Goals. Both speakers took the opportunity to share best practices from other SGroup members and European/national initiatives and funding opportunities, including topics like carbon offsetting  and social entrepreneurial initiatives.
