ICON PROGRAMME 2024 - Africa

Through the ICON programme, I was able to do a research stay at the University of Dodoma (Tanzania). It is very important to be able to work on site with local researchers. In my case, we were able to discuss the country's priority policies, the available data and possible interesting analyses that we could carry out to contribute to their development. It has also allowed me to share and receive knowledge about my area of research. I am sure that the results will have an important impact and that we will continue collaborating with local researchers.

Participating in the PhD cup was an awesome experience!

With the excellent training sessions, I greatly improved my presentation techniques and storytelling, which, being a shy person, I never considered to be my strongpoint.

It was very nice to share the story of my research with a wider audience than usual and this brought a lot of diverse and inspiring feedback.

Meeting fellow PhD students and networking was also a very nice benefit of the whole experience.

I can definitely recommend fellow PhD students to participate in the PhD cup.
