SGroup - Universities in Europe welcomes negotiations on Erasmus+ association of UK HEIs
SGroup, representing more than 40 universities from Europe and beyond, has been co-shaping the European Higher Education Area for more than 35 years. On the basis of our sustainable history, our proven track record of accomplishments and our shared values, we are an equitable and integrative association of universities that has evolved into a strong, supportive network committed to all its members, particularly in contested times. That is why we welcome negotiations and re-considerations regarding re-integration or re-association of HEIs that have temporarily been excluded from the Erasmus+ framework.
On this particular occasion, we would like to stress that SGROUP has always been and will remain open to UK universities because we have always found this cooperation to be enriching. We are in favour of any initiative that allows this partnership to continue and that facilitates the collegial work with UK member universities who have been playing a key role in the association including at executive level. Therefore, we are elated in this context that negotiations around the UK's potential re-association to Erasmus+ seem to be moving steadily in the right direction and hope that these will lead to a positive decision soon in order to enable SGROUP members to sustain joint impactful participation with UK universities in Erasmus+ projects, a signature element of SGROUP innovative actions.
