SCOPE

The Association operates on an international scale, engaging in transnational collaboration across the higher education and research landscape, with a strong European focus.

 

AIMS

  • The Association is a strategic European network of universities committed to fostering deep academic, cultural, socioeconomic, and innovation-oriented collaboration through sustained partnerships, knowledge exchange, and joint actions.
  • It seeks to position its members as key contributors to the evolving European Higher Education and Research Areas, in alignment with the priorities of the European Commission and the principles of innovative doctoral education, societal responsibility and global expertise.
  • The Association also wishes to encourage contacts between universities and their Communities and Regions on matters related to educational, social and technological development.

 

To fulfil these objectives, the Association pursues the following goals:

  1. to promote and enhance the exchange of students, academics, researchers, and administrative staff within and beyond the network, with an emphasis on inclusivity, recognition of learning outcomes, digital transformation and societal engagement;
  2. to ensure mutual recognition of study periods and academic credit transfers within the framework of multilateral agreements based on trust and transparency;
  3. to initiate and promote joint academic programmes and collaborative research projects aligned with major European and international frameworks, including (but not limited to) Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA);
  4. to support collaborative initiatives at doctoral and postdoctoral levels, that embody best practices and impact of innovative doctoral education;
  5. to foster institutional collaboration, encourage the creation of transnational and interconnected strategic partnerships;
  6. to strengthen synergies between universities and their local, regional, and international ecosystems, thereby contributing to educational, social, technological, and environmental development;
  7. to facilitate the exchange of best practices and promote excellence through mutual learning, capacity building, and peer collaboration;
  8. to promote transdisciplinarity, co-creation, sharing, and dissemination of curricula, open educational resources, digital learning materials, fostering curriculum development and the establishment of new collaborative programmes;
  9. to actively engage with public and private stakeholders/partners, including industry and civil society, to drive entrepreneurship and innovation and create meaningful societal impact;
  10. to advance lifelong learning, professional development, and the acquisition of digital skills through collaborative initiatives and strategic networks;
  11. to encourage the internationalisation of higher education by fostering partnerships with universities and institutions outside Europe and engaging with global academic networks.
