As a new year of ICon mobilities starts, we asked Professor Jorge Mota, from the University of Porto to share his experience of being an ICon grantee after he was awarded a grant for Latin America in 2021.
Remember that the 2022 call for The InterContinental Academic Exchange Programme (ICon) is out. All its information is available here. Do not miss the opportunity to secure one of the grants available.
Professor Jorge Mota was hosted by the University of S. Paulo-Campus de Ribeirão Preto for 11 days. During this time he developed a diverse and cooperation-oriented mobility programme. Here is his testimony of the experience:
“Beyond the already established contacts that led towards the participation on the PhD defense board, the grant also offered me the opportunity to establish new relations with colleagues and directors not only from EEER but from the nursing department, along with the contacts with project leaders and post-graduate students. We are looking forward to being part of the committee of the board of directors of both schools that will extend the established protocol with FADEUP to start the exchange of staff within the PhD programs carried-out by both institutions. In summary, the Icon program and SGroup gave me the opportunity to extend my cooperation with USP-RP and open the door to further cooperation between the institutions and other colleagues.”
