In the framework of the Think Tank Academy 2021, we are glad to announce the SGroup panel “Responsible International Higher Education 2021” at the EURIE Education Summit. It will take place on 4 March 2021, at 13.00 CET. Agata Mannino and Anthony Manning will present their institutions’ perspectives on sustainability, while Arnim Heinemann will chair the discussion. The focus of the panel’s topical context lies on sustainability in global higher education, including themes such as the multiple impact of hybrid communication and collaboration between HEIs on the potential of sustainable international education.

Speakers will stress that future skills have to be acquired through digital transformation in a co-operative context of bi- and multilateral relations between HEIs as part of academic cooperation and institutional networks.

Since universities are global knowledge producers, they have to serve as major change agents in creating a more sustainable future for education and society. Therefore, through Internationalisation in Higher Education for Society (IHES), coming generations of leaders will be more educated and well-equipped to work in multinational teams, tackling future challenges.

Moreover, the panel will argue that a balanced responsible digital transformation of global Higher Education plays a central role in the collaborative societal implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
