The Santander Group would like to announce its upcoming Liaison Officers Meeting at the Eindhoven University of Technology from 8 to 9 October 2010.
The aim of the meeting is two-fold: to explore ways to share knowledge and to build further to work even more closely, on the basis of what has already been achieved in Tarragona and Ghent.These issues will be addressed from both a European perspective and the viewpoint of the Santander Group universities.

On Friday, Robert Wagenaar, Director of Undergraduate and Graduate studies at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Groningen, Co-ordinator of the Dutch team of Bologna experts, will give a presentation. He has a long standing experience regarding international co-operation in higher education (TUNING, Erasmus Mundus a.o.). His presentation will prepare the way to undoubtedly lively discussions during the next item on the agenda, the policy document of the Santander Group. This document is being prepared at the moment by a working party made up of Santander Group colleagues and will lead to a new strategic vision for the Santander Group in 2011.
Professor John Tuppen, Santander Group President, and Julia Volz, Director of the International Office of the Justus Liebig University of Giessen and Executive Committee Member of the Santander Group, will chair this session. The contributions of the Liaison Officers to the policy document are very welcome.
Finally, Vincent Merk, Senior lecturer in Intercultural Management and Co-ordinator of the Centre for Communication, Language and Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology, will give an interactive lecture on Intercultural Communication & Co-operation, a topic of common interest at the Santander Group universities. This lecture is part of the “International Community” project of Eindhoven University of Technology.

The Saturday morning offers the occasion to discuss Santander Group current activities with a view to contributing to the implementation of Santander Group policies. To prepare this part of the meeting well, we would like to know from you whether you would like to discuss specific subjects.
The Liaison Officers’ Meeting will start on Thursday 7 October with a dinner at 19.30 and will end on Saturday 9 October after lunch. For those who will leave on Sunday, there will be a social programme on Saturday in the afternoon.
