The Santander Group held its Liaison Officers Meeting in Ghent University, and more particularly the International Relations from 15-17 October 2009.
We tried to move on from new directions given to the Group at Tarragona and Cluj and have provided a programme which concentrated on a number of issues that are very practical but also crucial to the survival of internationalisation - i.e. benchmarking, attracting international students and the tools/procedures to manage different forms of mobility and keep track of them. More information on how to prepare for these sessions will be given later. In each case discovered what is happening in the member institutions and how we can learn from each other. In this respect practical implementation is more important than theory.
On the second day we saw how far we had succeeded in bringing a new dynamic to the Santander Group since last year and how we could contribute to ensuring the effective implementation of current SG policies. We also trird to find out how we could work together even better in the future.
