SGroup Liaison Officers and General Assembly Meetings 2019

14 November 2019

“The Role of Universities in a Changing Europe” was the theme chosen for this year’s SGroup Liaison Officer’s meeting and General Assembly that took place at the University of Kent (UK), in Canterbury, from 6th until 8th November.

With more than 45 participants present from 31 different higher education institutions, this event was an excellent opportunity to discuss SGroup’s internal business, brainstorm on new ideas for both internal and external projects, as well as to dive into various relevant topics for higher education that comprised not only digitalization but also the implications of BREXIT for EU-UK collaboration and the new European Universities Alliances.

In the Internal Business meeting, the accounts for 2018 and the budget 2020 were approved, as well as the Statutes revised. The General Assembly accepted three new institutions into our network to whom we give a warm welcome: the University of Lille (FR) and University of Messina (IT) as full members and La Trobe University (AUS) as an associate member. The venue for the 2021 meetings was also agreed on.

Moreover, the 2019 IMPACT award (Integrating, Motivated, PArticipative and ACTive member) of the SGroup network was given to María Boquera.

The full agenda of both meetings can be found below. For more information about these topics, please check your internal SGroup website area (for member HEIs) or contact us.
