SGroup is proud to announce that applications for the second edition of our SGroup PhD Cup - Training and Competition in Science Communication are officially open!

PhD candidates of SGroup universities (Full and Associate Members) can now apply for the unique opportunity to receive free training to better perform in science communication from a professional, network with PhD candidates from all over the world and compete for a 1000€ mobility grant! The participation is open to PhD students (active doctoral researchers are eligible if they have already achieved research results to share in their pitch) from the SGroup member and associate member universities. Graduates are not eligible. Eligible candidates can submit their applications using this form until March 31, 2023.

The first edition of this initiative, created in 2022, was a great success and gave 26 PhD candidates from 18 SGroup universities the opportunity to receive group and personal coaching on rhetorical skills and to participate in a 3-minute thesis pitch presentation competition. The top 5 finalists delivered their pitch to the jury and the SGroup community during the SGroup Annual Meeting hosted by the University of Minho, in Guimarães, Portugal and received an SGroup PhD Mobility Grant of up to 1000€ to carry out research in any institution of their choice.
