SGroup International Staff Week
The SGroup International Staff Week is an initiative that gathers staff members from SGroup member institutions during one week with the objective to open the space for sharing best practices and experiences with their peers regarding a specific topic and area of expertise while creating the perfect platform for cooperation between SGroup universities and the promotion of future joint projects.
2025 Edition
We are delighted to invite you to participate in an engaging and enriching SGroup Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Internationalization hosted by the University of Catania. This initiative is specifically designed for SGroup Liaison Officers (LOs) and International Relations Officers (IROs) and offers a unique platform to exchange insights, explore best practices, and foster collaboration.
Our BIP will cover a variety of topics (the final programme will be co-created by participants) to inspire innovation and explore different needs and priorities:
- Best Practices on Inclusion
- Community Service Learning Activities by Incoming Students (ECEM Project)
- Artificial Intelligence and how to use it in IR Offices
- How to design an intercultural communication course for outgoing students
- Synergies among European Alliances
- Italian Language Crash Course
Similar to last year’s BIP, this programme will include:
1) Virtual Session: Early March 2025 (exact date to be confirmed).
2) On-site Session: May 19-23, 2025, hosted by the University of Catania International Office, with activities across:
- Catania Campus
- Ragusa Campus (One day session)
- Syracuse Campus (One day session) TBC
In addition to the stimulating sessions, participants will enjoy:
- A visit to the magnificent Mount Etna volcano.
- Cultural and historical tours in Ragusa and Syracuse.
For this BIP, the maximum number of participants is 30, and the registration deadline is the 28th of February 2025. Don’t miss it!

SGroup – Universities in Europe, in cooperation with the University of Cyprus, is proud to host the second edition of the SGroup International Staff Week in Nicosia, Cyprus from 6 to 9 of June 2023!
1. About
This year, the programme will focus on Entrepreneurship for Change and Employability, providing the participants with an opportunity to learn about new concepts and trends in entrepreneurship, employability, and social change, while also creating a platform where participants can exchange knowledge and perspectives on the topic with fellow entrepreneurs, educators, and researchers who also share their insights and strategies for success and implementation in their Higher Education Institutions.
Furthermore, as is traditional in the SGroup community, the SGroup International Staff Week provides an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues from other SGroup member universities with whom participants can share experiences and ideas, build professional and personal relationships, and develop potential collaborations.

3. Target Group
The target group of the SGroup International Staff Week are staff members working in the fields of Entrepreneurship and/or Employability at the SGroup member universities.
4. Registrations
Registrations are open here: https://sgroup-unis.eu/form_international_staff_week_2023!
Registrations are open exclusively to the staff of SGroup member universities until 17 March.
Due to capacity limitations, we expect to welcome one representative per SGroup member institution, in addition to the speakers. In case there are remaining spots once the application period is over, we will contact participants on the waiting list to inform them of the possibility to participate.
5. Fee
The participation fee for this event is €100. This amount includes the full training programme; a welcome
dinner; cultural and social programme and transfer to and from University of Cyprus from the city centre.
Please note that the practical arrangements such as travel and accommodation are individual responsibility of participants. Accommodation and travel suggestions and more practical information will be updated soon in the Information Package.

The programme of the 2022 edition of the SGroup International Staff Week focused on international projects and cooperation, allowing the participants to explore new formats and opportunities,exchange ideas and experiences, and develop new proposals. The target group were staff members working with international projects and cooperations. The full programme can be consulted here and detailed information on venues, costs and other logistics is available in the Infopack.
Throughout the training week, SGroup members looked at practical approaches on how to create successful project proposals, explored new aspects of Erasmus+, contributed to SGroup internal activities and other topics. Moreover, participants were introduced to the University of Split and its international profile, the city and had the opportunity to network and strengthen cooperation with other SGroup members as well as with staff from the host institution.
We are very much looking forward to gathering the SGroup community in person again and hope to see you there!
